Sussex Evening

Literary images of a Sussex evening:
brine, fresh-scented of sea wrack

Perfumed.
The raucous traffic, and screaming
a gull defends its perch on a chimney turret.
Frying chips, and batter. Saveloy,
and acetic gherkin green-pimpled
salt and vinegar warm paper
